I've always been drawn to messy problems. The ones where nothing's obvious and you have to think from zero. Getting to do that alongside founders, and build real conviction in what comes next, is the best part of this job.

Suhail grew up in New York, where he developed a rigorous analytical approach through competitive speech and debate, competing successfully on the national circuit. He went on to attend Cornell University, bringing his drive for structured evaluation to his higher education.

Before his current role, Suhail conducted extensive research on blockchain and Web3 applications in Colombo, Sri Lanka, collaborating with a local social acceleration lab to explore practical use cases in developing economies. He later worked at an early-stage fund focused on sleep and wellness, and spent time in private equity co-investment and advisory, working closely with institutional investors on diligence and strategy.

Today, Suhail is a Partner at Sunshine Lake where he works with the next generation of founders, drawing on his background spanning venture capital, private equity, and emerging technology. Based in San Francisco, he spends his downtime reading Persian literature and history, especially the Shahnameh.
